COMMUNICATIONS MINISTRY

The Communications Ministry reaches the congregation and our community through media in order to inspire, inform, and invite participation in the life, mission, and purposes of the Church through worship projection, public relations and other special projects.

The Communications Ministry uses a five point strategy for execution:

Innovation – presenting in a fresh way

Integration – using all the media means at our disposal together in an effective way

Involvement – coaching Church members on how to effectively communicate

Inspiration – telling the stories of God at work in people's lives

This is done through the following avenues:

Church Media:

Gurnee SDA Church is excited to be on the cutting edge with this and many other ministries. We believe that God deserves our best and that worship should be the fullest and most meaningful experience of the week. Our Media Ministry uses technology to project the Hymns/Worship Songs, Scriptures, Mission SONlight Video and the Pastor's sermon highlights on the sanctuary screens. Using a program that animates the presentation, this ministry enhances every worship experience. The Media (Audiovisual) Ministry serves as a resource for the various ministries of the Gurnee Seventh-day Adventist Church. Through providing audiovisual (AV) support, via the production and recording of services, visual design, maintenance of Church's website which includes audio programming and other resource needs, this ministry provides the foundation for various initatives, programs and outreach of the church mission.

Church Bulletin:

The Communications Ministry creates and prints the Church bulletin. To request that your event be placed in the Church Bulletin, please click here to send to an email. Information must be received by the Bulletin Editor no later than Tuesday evening for the upcoming Church bulletin.

Church OneCall:

The Communications Ministry sends out OneCall notifications via phone per basis. You can sign up at anytime; click here to email the Church Secretary to request to be on the subscription list.

Church Printed Newsletter:

The Newsletter Ministry is dedicated to reporting to the church body news of upcoming events and programs; current and on-going activities; and historical news regarding each auxiliary, individual, and the church as a whole. The Family Tree newsletter features columns such as the pastor’s message, birthdays and anniversaries, a youth & children's corner, happenings, individual spotlights, biblical crossword puzzles, and more. The inspiration of our church newsletter comes from Philippians 4: 8 which states: "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
