History
Gurnee Seventh-day Adventist Church
The vision of the Waukegan Seventh-day Adventist Church began in 1924 when an elderly grandma traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After attending the Seventh-day Adventist General Conference Session, she discussed starting a church in Waukegan, Illinois.
Soon after, a small group met in various homes, hotels, and rented buildings, resulting in baptisms. On January 27, 1927, they officially organized the Waukegan Seventh-day Adventist Church. In 1932, the O. C. Durham family joined the Waukegan congregation, where Elder Durham served as the spiritual leader for about one-quarter of a century.
Pastor
Pastor Lamont Taylor is a compassionate individual who is deeply committed to the well-being of others and actively shares his faith with those he encounters. He has personally experienced the transformative power of God in his own life and is dedicated to guiding others towards Jesus, whom he believes is the ultimate source of salvation.
Born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Waukegan, Pastor Lamont has served the Chicagoland area for over 18 years in various roles, including Lay Pastor, Youth Pastor, Chicagoland Youth Federation President and currently served as the Senior Pastor of the Gurnee SDA Church.
Married to his wife Marina, a Nurse, Pastor Lamont is a proud father of five children who all receive their education in Adventist Christian schools. He is a strong advocate for Adventist Christian education and, alongside his wife, provides counseling and support to younger couples and individuals facing challenges in their relationships.In his spare time he enjoys playing chess ,baseball ,basketball and football , and he is always ready to pontificate sharing the word of God as he says he is a sinner saved by Grace.

PRESCHOOL
Gurnee Christian Preschool seeks to provide childcare in an atmosphere of professional excellence and human kindness. We use appropriate and research supported curriculum while providing your child with room to grow. We believe that each individual is a gift from God, therefore, we seek to instill the idea that each of us is special and loved.

We offer the good news that faith in Jesus Christ makes possible an excellent personal relationship with God, a holy life empowered by His Holy Spirit for witness and service, and assurance of eternal life in heaven.
